Introduction or beginning of something old new

I think it's customary for every blog to start with an introduction, so I'm going to do my best to write one. My name is Sam, and I've been taking photography semi-seriously since 2007. I discovered my fascination with photography when, to try something new, I signed up for an extracurricular photography group during high school.
Seeing my first photogram appear in a bath of developer in a small bathroom at my high school, modified to serve as a developing studio changed my world without me realizing it. From that moment on, I decided that I wanted to be a photographer. At the time, I still didn't know anything, but I knew I wanted to photograph something.

I decided that, if I had to study, at least it should be something I liked, and after finishing my 9th grade I signed up for the professional advertising photography and photojournalism course at EPI, which I attended for 3 years, but didn't complete for family reasons.

After finishing the course, I combined my passion for photography with my interest in music, and started photographing local concerts, which led me to follow some bands on “tour” and even collaborate with blogs about the subject. With the end of the blog and the lack of availability at the time, I ended up stepping away for a while.
To end this pause, I decided to step out of the box and start photographing people. I also decided to start investing in my education. I took an image editing course, at Flag, and attended some of their workshops on social media and digital marketing.

After all these years, what is photography to me? And why start a blog in 2024?

Photography for me became my way of expressing myself. Being able to explore new techniques and test new material has always been something I loved doing and photography lets me do that consistently.
Regarding the blog, I don't promise that it will be consistent, but I want to leave here the results of my experiences and more complete reviews of material, that I think will help those who read them and inspire them to create too.
